Diving Los Chuchos

After a short boat ride from Las Galletas, we descend onto the volcanic reef at around 16 meters. The route follows rocky ledges, overhangs and small caverns before reaching the remains of a wooden fishing boat resting near the sand.

Los Chuchos means “the rays” in the Canary Islands, and the sandy areas around the reef are well known for stingray encounters. Schools of fish move across the site, while moray eels, octopus and cuttlefish may be found around the rocks and wreck. Sightings are never guaranteed, but this is a dive where looking out across the sand is always worthwhile.

With an average depth around 16 metres and deeper sections reaching approximately 22 meters, the dive can be planned around the group’s certification and comfort.
