Diving Moon Pools

Descend from the boat beside the volcanic coastline and follow the rock into a series of caverns, openings and natural pools. Sunlight enters through gaps above, creating bright beams and reflections against the darker rock around Ojos de Cristal.

Moving between open water and sheltered formations, look carefully along the walls for colorful anemones, moray eels, octopus and nudibranchs. Barracuda may also pass through the surrounding blue, adding another surprise to a dive already shaped by light and volcanic scenery.

With depths between 5 and 18 meters, Moon Pools offers plenty to explore without becoming a deep dive. Its caverns and swim-throughs also make it a natural environment for our PADI Sidemount Diver course, where trim, balance and cylinder control help divers move smoothly through this type of terrain.
