Diving Punta Maravilla

From the boat, we descend over the rocky reef and follow the boundary where volcanic ground meets pale sand. Small ledges, cracks and a compact cave with two openings add variety to the route while the depth remains manageable.

Trumpetfish, moray eels and octopus may be found around the rocks, while shrimp, small crabs, anemones and colorful nudibranchs reward divers who slow down and look closely. Rays can sometimes rest along the sandy edge where the reef begins to open out.

Punta Maravilla is generally well sheltered, although a light current can occasionally move across the site. Its open areas and manageable depth let Aquarius adapt the plan for different goals. We regularly use it for our Snorkeling experience, as well as a controlled first dive during TecRec training.
