Our approach
Navigation is one of the most useful skills a diver can learn. It helps you understand where you are, where you are going and how to return without wasting energy on long surface swims.
At Aquarius, we make the course practical and visual. You learn to combine compass navigation, natural references, distance estimation and underwater patterns while diving around Tenerife’s volcanic rock formations and Atlantic scenery.
We also include Nav-Finder / Scuba Sextant practice as part of the training. PADI may treat this type of tool as optional, but at Aquarius we prefer to include the full skill set instead of cutting corners. It gives you a better understanding of route planning, angles and controlled underwater navigation.
For extra safety background, DAN explains how skilled divers combine compass navigation, natural references and environmental awareness underwater.
