After certification, you can use nitrox within the limits of your training, the gas mix and your dive computer settings. In Tenerife, it is especially useful for guided diving, boat diving and multi-dive days, because many dive profiles benefit from smarter no-decompression planning.

Nitrox does not increase your personal depth limit. However, it combines very well with continuing training such as Advanced Open Water, Wreck Diver or, later, Deep Diver, because those courses also require better dive planning and more awareness of your limits.
