At Aquarius, we keep deep training clear, calm and step by step. You learn how to enjoy deeper recreational dives with better planning, gas awareness and confidence, while still keeping the holiday feeling that makes diving in Tenerife so special.

FAQ’s PADI Deep Diver

What is the PADI Deep Diver course?

The PADI Deep Diver course teaches certified divers how to plan and enjoy deeper recreational dives with more confidence. The course extends your training toward the recreational limit of 40 meters/130 feet.

You learn about deep-dive planning, gas management, buddy contact, buoyancy and trim at depth, equipment considerations, narcosis awareness and safety procedures. With Aquarius, the course is serious in the right places, but still exciting, practical and enjoyable in Tenerife.

Who can join the PADI Deep Diver course?

You must be at least 15 years old and certified as PADI Adventure Diver or equivalent.

You do not need to be an expert diver. The course is for certified divers who feel comfortable in the water and want to build deeper-diving confidence step by step.

PADI Enriched Air Diver certification is strongly recommended, and if Nitrox is used during training, Nitrox fills are not included unless clearly stated in your package.

How does the PADI Deep Diver course work?

The course normally takes 2 days and includes PADI eLearning plus 4 open-water training dives. The practical dives are planned in the deeper recreational range and may go up to 40 meters/130 feet when conditions, diver comfort and training standards allow.

During the dives, you practise deep-dive planning, buoyancy and trim control, gas awareness, buddy procedures, safety stops and SMB use.

The goal is to make deeper dives feel better planned, more controlled and more enjoyable.

Why is Tenerife a good place for deep diver training?

Tenerife is a great place for deep training because depth is close. Around the island’s volcanic coastline, suitable dive sites can reach deeper recreational profiles without long travel or complicated logistics.

That gives the PADI Deep Diver course a real purpose here. You train in Atlantic blue water, with deeper reefs, wall-style profiles and wreck options that make the course feel useful, adventurous and very connected to diving in Tenerife.

What can I do after becoming a PADI Deep Diver?

After certification, you can plan recreational dives to a maximum of 40 meters/130 feet within your training, experience, gas supply, dive computer limits and local conditions.

Good next steps are PADI Enriched Air Diver, PADI Wreck Diver, DSMB training or, for divers who want to go beyond recreational limits later, Technical Diving Training. After deeper or repetitive dives, plan your schedule carefully and avoid flying or going to high altitude too soon after diving.
