What is PADI TecRec training?

PADI TecRec training is technical-diving education for experienced divers who want to move beyond normal recreational limits. Depending on the course, this may include decompression procedures, redundant gas supply, advanced gas planning, specialized equipment and more disciplined team diving.

With Aquarius, TecRec training is not treated as a shortcut to depth. We focus on control, preparation, clean configuration and the professional mindset needed for more demanding dives.

Who can start PADI Tec training?

The exact prerequisites depend on the TecRec course. Entry-level options such as Discover Tec are designed as an introduction, while Tec 40, Tec 45, Tec 50 and Tec Sidemount require more experience, certification level and logged dives.

Before placing you in a TecRec course, we check your certification level, diving history, comfort in the water, buoyancy control and reasons for wanting to train. Technical diving is exciting, but it has to be approached with the right attitude.

Which PADI Tec course should I choose first?

If you are curious but not ready to commit, start with Discover Tec Diving. If you already have the experience and required certifications, PADI Tec 40 is normally the first main step into technical diving.

From there, Tec 45 and Tec 50 build your decompression-diving range. Tec Sidemount is ideal if you want a technical sidemount configuration, while Tec Gas Blender is focused on the gas side of technical diving.

What equipment do I need for PADI Tec training?

PADI Tec training uses specialized equipment such as redundant gas supply, wing systems, stage or decompression cylinders, technical dive computers and safety accessories. The exact setup depends on the course.

Aquarius has technical diving equipment available for training and rental. We are also a Scubapro Demo Center, official SCUBAPRO / SEALIFE sponsored dive center and authorized Scubapro dealer.

Our team has been involved in real-world Scubapro product testing, including the S-Tek wing system and Trimix dive-computer functionality, giving us deeper working knowledge of technical-diving equipment, configuration and gas-planning tools.
That means we can do more than rent you gear. We can help you understand what works, why it works and how to build a cleaner, safer and more streamlined technical setup.
