Aquarius Dive Center is not a mass-market dive operation. We are a small, experienced team of dive professionals who believe diving should be safe, personal, well-organized and genuinely enjoyable, with the relaxed holiday energy that makes people want to come back.

As part of PADI Adopt the Blue, we support responsible diving and ocean awareness. When we see litter during a dive, we collect it whenever it is safe and practical to do so. Small actions matter, especially when the ocean is your workplace, playground and passion.

Location Meets Expertise

Our location in El Fraile, South Tenerife, puts us close to Las Galletas harbor and within easy reach of many of Tenerife’s best boat diving areas, with selected shore diving options available when conditions and experience level make them the right choice.

Easy access and nearby parking also make the dive center practical before and after your dives.

Our strength goes far beyond location. With over 70 years of combined international diving experience, local knowledge of Tenerife’s underwater world and a clear commitment to safety, quality and fun, Aquarius gives you more than a standard dive center visit.

You dive with a team that knows what it is doing, keeps the atmosphere relaxed and cares whether you are having a great time, not just a safe dive.

Built on Real Dive Experience

Aquarius is led by Harry and Doina, with 35+ years of diving industry experience behind the operation and Harry’s 33+ years as a PADI Instructor. Over the years, Aquarius has trained more than 5,500 divers and grown into a PADI 5-Star IDC Center, Tenerife’s first PADI TecRec Center and an officially approved SCUBAPRO Demo Center.

The story did not start in Tenerife. During the Aquarius Romania period, the team built a serious wreck-diving reputation through Black Sea research and discovery work, including the discovery and identification of the Russian submarine SC-213, connected to the Struma tragedy.

Aquarius also received a Recognition of Excellence Service certificate from the Romanian Navy. Today, the dive center holds a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award and is officially sponsored by SCUBAPRO / SEALIFE.

PADI Training From Beginner to Professional: As a PADI 5-Star IDC Center, we offer dive training from beginner level to professional level. Our instructors focus on clear teaching, strong habits and confidence in the water, not rushed certifications or crowded training.

TecRec Expertise for Serious Divers: For divers ready to go further, Aquarius also brings serious TecRec experience to Tenerife. Technical diving demands discipline, planning and control, and that is exactly how we approach it. From first steps into tec to more advanced training, our goal is to help capable divers build real skill, not just collect another card.

Scubapro Quality Equipment: Equipment matters too. As an officially approved SCUBAPRO Demo Center and official SCUBAPRO / SEALIFE sponsored dive center, we use quality equipment for recreational, technical and sidemount diving.

Our equipment knowledge comes from decades of diving, servicing, teaching and close professional involvement with SCUBAPRO products, including selected public products Aquarius helped evaluate during development.

Doina Geana

Owner

Doina is one of the calm, friendly forces behind Aquarius Dive Center Tenerife. With more than 20 years of diving experience, she brings warmth, patience and real underwater confidence to every diver she works with.

She guides dives, supports training and helps manage the daily organisation of the dive center, making sure everything runs smoothly before, during and after the dive.

Professional, approachable and always ready to help, Doina is a big part of why Aquarius feels personal, safe and welcoming.
Doina speaks Romanian, English and Spanish.

Harry Bakker

Owner

Harry has been diving since 1989 and became a PADI Instructor in 1993. With 35+ years of diving industry experience, he brings deep practical knowledge, calm control and a strong safety-focused approach to every diver he works with.

His background includes recreational diving, wreck diving, technical diving, instructor-level training and dive equipment maintenance.

Direct, experienced and detail-focused, Harry helps divers become safer, more confident and more in control underwater.
Harry speaks Dutch, English and a little German.

Sara Iranzo

Instructor

Sara brings genuine curiosity, patience and a deep love for the underwater world to Aquarius Dive Center. She began diving in 2019 while studying Marine Science and Technology and became a dive instructor in the Philippines in 2025.

Sara’s passion for marine life naturally becomes part of the way she teaches. She loves helping divers notice the fascinating animals and behaviors around them, while building a greater understanding and respect for the ocean.

Calm, encouraging and always supportive, Sara gives every diver the space to learn at their own pace, grow in confidence and enjoy every moment underwater. Sara speaks Spanish, Catalan and English.

Nicolas Alcaraz

Instructor

Nicolas has always felt at home in the water. He made his first dive at just seven years old, but a life-changing diving trip through Asia turned that early connection into a real passion and inspired him to follow the professional path in Tenerife.

As the son of a teacher, helping others learn comes naturally to him. He especially enjoys working with nervous divers, taking all the time they need to relax, build confidence and truly enjoy the experience, while seeing their smile at the end of the dive. A turtle joining them only makes a good dive even better.

Patient, positive and naturally supportive, Nicolas helps people feel safe, comfortable and able to discover how much fun the underwater world can be. Nicolas speaks French, English and Spanish, with a basic understanding of Italian.
