PADI Tec 45 requirements

To start the PADI Tec 45 course at Aquarius, please make sure you meet the following:

Minimum age: 18 years.

PADI Tec 40 Diver or qualifying technical certification.

PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent.

Proof of CPR/First Aid training within the previous two years.

Minimum 50 logged dives.

At least 12 enriched air dives deeper than 18 meters/60 feet.

At least 6 dives deeper than 30 meters/100 feet, with or without enriched air.

Diver Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.

Current dive insurance required.

Tec 45 eLearning completed before your first class.

Qualifying certifications from other training organizations may apply. Ask us before booking if there is any doubt.

What is the PADI Tec 45 course?

PADI Tec 45 is the second level in the PADI Tec Deep Diver path. It builds on Tec 40 and trains you to plan and execute decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters/150 feet using one decompression gas of up to 100% oxygen.

Who can join the PADI Tec 45 course?

You need to be at least 18 years old, certified as PADI Tec 40 Diver or equivalent, and certified as PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent. You also need the required logged dives, current dive insurance, proof of CPR/First Aid training, and a physician-signed medical statement from the last 12 months.

How does the PADI Tec 45 course work?

The course includes eLearning, practical applications and four training dives. You continue from Tec 40 into more detailed decompression planning, gas switching, oxygen use, equipment checks, team procedures and emergency management.

What is included in the standard Tec 45 course?

The standard Tec 45 course includes four training dives, practical applications, Tec 45 eLearning, use of twinset or sidemount cylinders with air, one complete stage/decompression cylinder with required decompression gas, wing with backplate and harness, longhose regulator configuration and PADI Tec 45 certification.

Decompression gases are included for the minimum course requirements only.

What will I achieve after PADI Tec 45?

After successful certification, you are qualified to make limited decompression dives to 45 meters/150 feet using air, enriched air and one decompression gas of up to 100% oxygen. Tec 45 also prepares you for the next step: PADI Tec 50.

Do I need my own technical diving equipment?

The course includes the main technical diving configuration needed for training, but not all personal dive equipment.

If you need to rent standard dive equipment, Aquarius offers a 50% discount on standard rental equipment during the course, subject to availability.
