Minimum age: 10 years.

Ages 10 to 14 receive the Junior Open Water Diver certification.

You must already be certified as a PADI Scuba Diver.

Basic swimming ability and medical fitness for scuba diving are required.

When should I start the PADI Scuba Diver Upgrade eLearning?

Start as soon as your booking is confirmed. Because you already hold the PADI Scuba Diver certification, you continue with the remaining Open Water Diver theory instead of starting again from zero.

Finish the online part before your training days in Tenerife, so we can use your time at the dive center for review, skills and open water dives.

What is included in the PADI Scuba Diver Upgrade training?

The upgrade completes the remaining parts of the PADI Open Water Diver course. This includes the remaining confined water skills, two open water dives, theory review, final exam and required water-skill elements.

At Aquarius, the upgrade is normally scheduled over 2 days with small-group instruction and SCUBAPRO dive equipment included.

Who can take the PADI Scuba Diver Upgrade?

This course is for certified PADI Scuba Divers who want to complete the full PADI Open Water Diver certification. The minimum age is 10 years.
Divers aged 10 to 14 receive the Junior Open Water Diver certification.

What should I bring for the course?

Bring your PADI Scuba Diver certification, swimwear and a towel. Also bring your eLearning login or completion record if requested.

Dive insurance and the use of SCUBAPRO dive equipment are included in the course price.

What can I do after completing the upgrade?

After certification, you can dive with a certified buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters, within your certification limits and conditions similar to your training.

It also opens the door to more guided dives and continuing courses such as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, PADI Enriched Air Diver and buoyancy training.
