More Than a Standard Equipment Specialty
The standard PADI Equipment Specialist course is often presented as a basic gear-care course: how to look after your equipment, avoid common problems and deal with small issues before they ruin a dive.
At Aquarius, we take the course further.
During the first day, we focus on how scuba equipment actually works. You learn the logic behind cylinders, valves, inflators, first stages and second stages, so the equipment becomes easier to understand instead of just being something you assemble before a dive.
We explain important differences such as balanced and unbalanced first stages, piston and diaphragm designs, common second-stage features, hose routing, service awareness and basic troubleshooting. By the end of the day, you should be able to look at a regulator first stage and understand much more about what type of system you are seeing and why it matters.
This course is ideal for divers who own their own equipment, future Divemasters, instructors, dive-center staff and any diver who wants more confidence in the gear they depend on underwater.
The Pro Service Room Workshop
The second package adds a full extra day in the Aquarius maintenance room.
This is where the training becomes much more hands-on. You work with real dive equipment, real components and professional testing tools under direct supervision. Instead of only talking about what is inside a regulator or valve, you see the components, handle them and understand how they fit together.
We look at valve components, regulator disassembly and assembly demonstrations, intermediate pressure checks, cracking effort checks, leak analysis, adjustment principles, thread inspection with professional gauges, ultrasonic cylinder wall-thickness checks and correct valve torque procedures.
You also practise common water-side troubleshooting, the kind of practical problem solving that can help a diver, Divemaster or instructor understand what is happening before making the right decision.
This workshop does not replace manufacturer technician training and it does not authorize you to service life-support equipment independently. It gives you something different and extremely valuable: supervised access to real equipment, professional testing procedures and serious maintenance-room insight inside a working dive center.
Our approach
Training equipment knowledge properly means going deeper than rinse your gear and change an o-ring. We want you to understand how your scuba equipment works, what can go wrong and where the limits of safe troubleshooting are.
