Diving Los Roncadores del Faro

We descend onto the shallow volcanic platform and follow a series of natural steps leading down the reef. At around 20 meters, the wall comes alive with a school of roncadores moving together above the rocks, while bogues and trumpetfish add even more activity around the site.

A natural tunnel passes through part of the reef and creates an excellent view as divers move beneath the volcanic rock. Octopus and moray eels may be found inside the cracks, while barracuda and schools of salema often appear higher along the return route. Tuna also pass through the area regularly, sometimes appearing suddenly in the open blue.

The different levels, wall and tunnel create a dive with plenty of useful underwater landmarks. Divers who want to strengthen their route planning and awareness can develop these skills further during our PADI Underwater Navigator specialty.
