Cita en el Mar wreck

Name: Cita en el Mar | Cita del Mar.

Type: Fishing trawler for tuna.

Length: 21.8 meter.

Width: 6.24 meter.

Sinking date: 14 May 1995.

Cargo: Tuna.

Built at: Madeira in 1961.

Reason sinking: Problems during a storm after returning from Morocco.

Location: Near Faro de Punta Rasca, Tenerife.

Depth: 38 to 52 meter, technical dive.

 

  • There are 3 different sinking dates but we believe that 14 May 1995 is the most credible.
  • The wreck lay first at 25 meter but during a storm in January 1997 she went down to 38 – 52 meter.
  • The bridge remains of the Cita en el Mar lay 90 degrees on port side at approximate 45 meter.
