Diving Los Arcos

From the boat, we descend toward the rocky reef at around 20 meters, where cracks, ledges and irregular lava formations create a natural underwater labyrinth. The depth changes only gradually, but the broken terrain makes strong local knowledge valuable when navigating between the different structures.

The route leads past three volcanic arches, each creating a different frame between dark rock, pale sand and open Atlantic blue. Moray eels, trumpetfish and Canarian lobsters may shelter inside the cracks, while small invertebrates reward divers who slow down and examine the shaded surfaces. Stingrays may also be found resting on the nearby sand.

Light to moderate current is common, so clear briefing and close group control matter through the changing terrain. At 18 to 25 meters, Los Arcos can also suit enriched air during repetitive boat diving.
