Diving Alcalá

Enter from the harbor by ladder or giant stride, depending on the tide, and descend into a shallow bay surrounded by volcanic rocks. A sandy passage leads toward the first reef, where octopus, cuttlefish and small barracuda may be found around the rocks and moorings.

Continue toward the second reef and follow the volcanic formations through caverns, overhangs and narrow passages. Look closely for nudibranchs and crabs, while rays, snake eels and schools of fish may appear around the sandy areas. On the longer route, we can also reach the remains of a car and the crow’s nest of an old vessel.

With several possible routes between 5 and 14 meters, Alcalá offers an enjoyable dive for both newer and experienced divers. Aquarius keeps the group small and uses local knowledge to choose the strongest route for the day.
