Diving Cueva de Ali Baba

From the boat, we descend along the volcanic slope toward the cave at around 42 meters. Its broad entrance appears between dark rock and pale sand, surrounded by black coral that becomes larger and more impressive around the deeper wall and overhangs.

Inside and around the entrance, shrimp can gather in large numbers, while forkbeard, groupers, moray eels and Canarian scorpionfish may be found in the shaded areas. Stingrays sometimes rest inside the cave, and one particularly large black coral formation stands out near the exit.

After leaving the cave, the dive can continue toward the El Condesito wreck when the plan, gases and conditions allow. Parts of the wreck can then be explored during the planned decompression stops, adding a second character to an already exceptional technical dive. The depth, possible current and decompression requirements demand careful teamwork and gas planning, skills developed during our PADI Tec 50 course.
