GUE training program

The program is crafted to develop exceptional in-water competence, enhancing fun and safety while supporting exploration within the farthest reaches of our aquatic realm.

GUE diver training is further supported by an unprecedented quality control system including regular re-qualification of instructor credentials, mandatory student renewals and quality assessment of all GUE students.

Global Underwater Explorers emerged out of a shared desire to safely explore and protect the underwater world and to improve the quality of education and research in all things aquatic.

Aquarius dive center are pleased to have GUE Instructor Sander Evering from The Netherlands and GUE Instructor Per Normark from Sweden, offering GUE courses here.

Sander and Per are qualified to teach several courses, including, GUE Fundamentals. (See below for more specific details on this)

GUE Fundamentals Tenerife

The GUE fundamentals course is designed to cultivate the essential skills required by all sound diving practice. Included among its course outcomes are:

To provide the recreational diver, who does not desire further diver training, with an opportunity to advance his/her basic diving skills; to train divers in the theory and practice of Nitrox.

To provide divers with aspirations for more advanced diver training with the tools that will contribute to a greater likelihood of success.

Provide non-GUE trained divers with a gateway into GUE training.

 

Requirements for GUE Fundamentals

Applicants for a Fundamentals course must:

  • Submit a completed registration form, a medical history, and a liability release to GUE Headquarters.
  • Physically and mentally fit.
  • Hold insurance that will cover diving emergencies such as hyperbaric treatment, e.g. DAN Master-level insurance or equivalent.
  • Be a nonsmoker.
  • Obtain a physician’s prior written authorization for the use of prescription drugs, except for birth control, or for any prior medical condition that may pose a risk while diving.
  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • A certified GUE Rec 1 diver or be certified as an open water diver from a recognized training agency.

 

Course Content

The Fundamentals course is normally conducted over four days, requires 6 dives and at least 30 hours instruction, encompassing classroom, land drills and in-water work.

Sander Evering

Sander is from the Netherlands and has more than 10 years’ experience.

He is a passionate Cave and Sidemount diver and write articles for the Dutch scuba diving magazine “Duiken”.

Sander is proud owner of Dive Solutions, The Netherlands and happy to offer GUE training in Tenerife. Sander speaks Dutch, English and German.

Sander teaches GUE Rec 1, 2, and 3, GUE Fundamentals, GUE Tech 1, GUE DPV1 and GUE Gasblender training.

Per Normark gue instructor

 

Per Normark

Per, is happy to offer GUE training here in Tenerife.

Per is a GUE instructor based in Sweden who has a passion for travelling, diving and exploration.
He is a dedicated wreck, cave and mine diver.

In addition to this, he loves teaching and sharing his experience with others. Per has also a burning desire to go on dive trips off the beaten track.

Per teaches currently GUE Fundamentals in English, Russian and Swedish.
